better late than never
louis caldera just resigned as head of the white house military office. no explanation as to why it took him weeks to figure out what was glaringly obvious from the moment the planes flew over lower manhattan. he offered some doubletalk about not being able to effectively run the office because of the bad press... you know, some people just don't get it.
i still think pretty poorly of obama for not firing him on the spot.

This is what comes of not listening to the PAO—the Public Affairs Officer. But, Mr Caldera is a Harvard Law grad, so maybe that explains it. He has been around—California Assemblyman, Secretary of the Army, President of the University of New Mexico. He just hasn't been around enough to think things through. One wonders if perhaps it might have gone smoother if it had been some military officer in the chair. Maybe the pogue military staff members felt they couldn't disagree; that they didn't get a "But, Sir."

Ok, so he did. Nobody more than me wants him to balance out his karma, especially while we're doing without Youk in the lineup. I'd say it's a nice time for him to go on his annual streak right about now.
