pro life, yeah right
i have no idea what deludes certain psychopaths into believing they're doing "god's work" by killing "abortion doctors", but murdering a physician in front of his entire family and church congregation and then having the ultimate life-affronting cowardice to plead "not guilty" is just about more than i can stand.
if you belong to a church that relates some notion of "life" with any notion of "abortion is murder", then i'm telling you there's a spot in hell reserved just for you right next to this guy. "aiding and abetting" is one way to put it, but any way you call it, this shit just has to stop. the ultimate irony is that this shithead hasn't even the courage of his religious convictions to "render unto caesar" and accept the consequences of his actions.
either life is sacred or it isn't. where do you stand?

Life is sacred and Professor Peter Singer scares me a lot.
I am against the death penalty. I am against abortion. I am against private murder. I am for nuclear retaliation. What can I say, consistency is hard to come by with people.
The thing I find interesting is that the majority of people believe abortion should be legal and a majority of people believe abortion is wrong. I am not sure our laws and customs measure up to that public sense.
I am concerned about recent statistics that tell us that Black women have a significantly higher abortion rate than other groups in this nation. Why this is the case is not obvious, but it should set off alarm bells for all of us.

i could care less about the legality, morality, or mortality of the act--it is terrifying to me that some believe the government entitled to both know and have something to say about it.
they got it right when they ruled it a privacy issue. people have to get a grip on their emotions and reflect on what that means.
Guys,
Not sure if this qualifies me as inconsistent, or hypocritical, or whatever, but I'm solidly anti death penalty but don't think the government should outlaw all abortions, even though I disagree with the practice itself.
The effect of abolishing the death penalty would be the saving of a lot of money for appeals and lawyers, a statement about the sanctity of life, and no real impact on violent crime.
The effect of making abortion illegal would be that wealthy women with access to good medicine would still undergo the process quietly and safely, while women without that type of access would be put at risk for doing the same thing.
Come to think of it, there are tons of things that I disagree with but still recognize the legality of, and vice versa.
best,

... some day, over a beer, I would like to talk the sociology of the thing.
