the math

for the "pro-life" readers, here's the math on the number of zygotes "killed" in the world.  (along with a lot of other math on the number of deaths endured by pregnant women along with it).

say you're for saving all the zygotes?  you ought to read this to find out how.  because, if you don't, or if you ignore the math here, you're a "baby killer" by your own definition.

don't be a baby killer.

i'd like not to be a mother killer either, but that's just me.  good news is that, perhaps not so ironically, you can be neither at the same time.

read on, please.

And the response... thanks for conversation over at Cliff's.

http://www.ncregister.com/blog/jennifer-fulwiler/why-i-lost-faith-in-the-pro-choice-movement

"No matter how many red flags popped up in front of me, no matter how much data pointed in the direction of the humanity of unborn life, I couldn't bring myself to think of myself as anything other than pro-choice. Even though I was increasingly uncomfortable with the entire concept, something within me screamed that to not support abortion would be to support women being slaves to their biology.
This pressure built and built over months, and eventually years. And then, one day it clicked.
I was looking through a Time magazine article whose infograph cited data from the Guttmacher Institute about the most common reasons women have abortions. It immediately struck me that none of the factors on the list were conditions that we tell women to consider before engaging in sexual activity. Don't have the money to raise a child? Don't think your boyfriend would be a good father? Don't feel ready to be a mother? Women were never encouraged to consider these factors before they had sex; only before they had a baby."

It's tough to change from a pro-choice to pro-life view, I was always a personally pro-life person and to take that public stand because we're being lied to as women and men. Contraception doesn't solve the problem, reason and love does.

Thanks for the conversation over at Cliff's.

I can't help be struck how this "response" goes straight to the "baby killing" argument yet again.

I do respect and appreciate the need to empower women with their *real* choices before they choose to risk pregnancy. You phrase them well here in your comment. However, it still remains that "baby killing" is a stupid and pointless canard, not to mention well-refuted by the original link. I find this "response" to be weak and entirely missing the OP's point.

We can't be murdering viable fetuses. We can't be disregarding the rights of women in favor of hypothetical zygotes with every probability of being unviable to boot. Until people see that these points are not in opposition to each other, we will never get past the emotion and the stupidity.
